Drunk Elephant Kamo Triple-Peptide Drops

This is a make-up rec that is 75% enthusiastic and 25% cautionary. I am a Drunk Elephant girlie who loves minimalist make-up. So when Drunk Elephant announced this product, I wondered if it was too good to be true. So many of their products are superstars, but they do have the occasional clunker. My verdict on the Kamo Triple-Peptide Drops? THE GOOD: the texture is a dream. It is gorgeous coverage that is customizable (my application method of choice is mixing one pump of Kamo with half a pump of Lala moisturizer). I have combination skin, and I thought that this product did a fantastic job of giving me a little dewiness without the oily shine that can come an hour or two later. THE NOT GOOD: something is quite off with their color formulation, and I confirmed my experience with many Sephora reviews. Their shades are much darker than they describe. It took me three tries to finally find the right shade for me. Their “cool” shades are very orange, and their “neutral” shades are very yellow. Now that I found my shade match, I am very content, but it was a frustrating process. So why am I recommending it? I still think the formulation is outstanding, and if you are able to color test in person (or if you are really good pals with your Sephora salesperson) I think it’s absolutely worth the effort to find the right shade.
