National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

I saw this production in New York in 2019. The performance is entirely in Yiddish with English supertitles. If it sounds like a gimmick, it’s not. Instead, the all-Yiddish version ultimately drives home that ~40 years after the story ends (spoiler alert!), this diasporic language will be essentially extinguished. This production is coming to the Ahmanson Theatre (Los Angeles) this 2026-27 season. You will be so glad that you saw it.
