Finding out an author you like is queer and telling everyone about it

My students love talking about moomins. I love telling them Tove Jansson was a queer woman. Margret Wise Brown, the author of Good Night Moon? A queer woman. I found out this morning a New Yorker writer i like (Casey Cep) is queer. She profiled Barbara Kingsolver (nothing gay about that), but knowing the writer is a queer woman ALWAYS makes the work better for me. And telling other people? Chef’s kiss.
