Written in 1948, I’ve always had a soft spot for this one because it’s one of the few things my mom remembers from her own childhood.
Sal is an endearingly butch little girl who accidentally trades places with a bear cub while picking blueberries. A classic for a reason!

Yes! I threw a "blueberries for sal" themed baby shower a few years ago for a mother to be who loved this book as had the grandmother!

“My favorite gift to give new babies (and their parents). And when kids get older, it’s so fun to revisit Sal (and her new little sister) in “One Morning in Maine”!”
