exceptional. i try to read about a year a day of this (it’s hefty) and it is pure delight. i don’t want it to end. her descriptions are so precise and clear, she’s honest, funny, clever, petty, insecure, and wise. i think when i finish this i’ll start it again so i can keep spending time with her.

this year’s reads

“I’m bowled over by this collection. What an astonishing life, juicy as a tabloid, told so honestly. A flawed woman so willing to reckon with her flaws and the hurt she’s caused. A testament to how fun life can be, even as you age, of the things you give up when you choose the wrong partner, of how you can always come back to yourself. Her descriptions of the must mundane things had me breathless,”

“Memoir / diary about the end of her relationship to another writer . Brilliant uncensored writing. I listened to the audiobook which she reads herself”
