La Castela

My favorite place in Madrid to comer de pie (eat standing up) like a Spaniard! I just love going to this old-school bar for mariscos (seafood) and a caña (small draft beer). It's off the beaten tourist path and always filled with Madrileños. Which is why, at the risk of looking like an American, I try to get there before the doors open for lunch so I can snag a spot at the bar. The camarones (waiters) at La Castela are just so much fun to hang out with.
