Scheherazade by Richard Siken, a masterpiece of a poem

there is something hauntingly romantic yet raw about the poem “Scheherazade.” The first time I read Crush, the book it comes from, I was stunned by Siken’s use of language and structure in his poetry. In my point of view, it evokes how the look and feel of a bruise’s tender pain and beauty.
