Build a few “uniforms” into your closet

And by that I mean if you find an article of clothing that fits well and is good quality, buy multiple. Same color, different colors, doesn’t matter!

This goes for basics as well as statement pieces (examples below) and you’d be surprised how easy this is even with second hand clothes.

I find this simpler than the promise of the ultimate capsule wardrobe. Maybe you’d rather go the Steve Jobs route and conserve so much brain space you wear the same thing every day…but I like a little pizzazz!

Some basics I get in multiple colors:

• Everlane ribbed long sleeve

• Everlane alpaca wool sweater (seasonal colors come out every bit you can’t go wrong with almond, black, and grey and there are lots on Poshmark

some not so basic pieces

• Ulla Johnson Carlotta Blouse (purchased in white on poshmark and ultimately loved it so much I found a black one - much cheaper than retail and now I have multi season coverage!)

• Loeffler Randall Demi Pant - a splurge but they are so versatile and great conversation starters!
