The original solar and wind powered appliance! If you have any outdoor space (including an apartment balcony) I can’t recommend a laundry line enough. My clothes last longer, feel better, and smell like fresh air. Plus, there’s something about this tactile, birdsong-y way of beginning the day that had become a load bearing pillar of my mental health.
The best all-weather laundry line I’ve found if you have space and trees is Vermont Country Store’s zinc-coated Sun Keeper. Ours has been going strong for 7 years and counting.

Yes! I recently moved house and now we have a laundry line outside. I don't understand why, but suddenly I love doing the laundry...I think you're right that it's something about it being tactile.
UK weather means I'll only get another month or so of it though :(
