Tessa Perlow's pearly kings & queens basketball shorts

Have been fixated on the idea of making myself a pair of these since Tessa Perlow (queen of vintage garment transformation) posted them last summer: they are old basketball shorts adorned with pearl-button rosettes and stripes. Keeping an eye out for just the right shorts and a small trove of vintage mother-of-pearl buttons ... (NB: Worth looking up the pearly kings and queens if you like button glory.)
