The Frick

Visit

Recently, I was so excited to see the exquisite enamel work of Susanne de Court at The Frick. She was active around 1600 and is thought to have been the only woman to lead a workshop in Limoges, France. Her pieces are incredibly detailed and colorful. It’s always a joy to see historic female artists recognized.

“For when you want to see great art but you don’t want to be overwhelmed… The Frick is the place for you. Fascinating backstory, beautiful architecture, and a surprising number of Vermeer, JMW Turner, and 18th/19th century works. Spent a couple hours here and you will feel like you are at cultured Queen.”
