Shannon came to us with sentimental earrings from her grandparents and her father. Her dad lovingly teased her for her love of jewelry as a kid and once tricked her with a gift that looked like it would surely be fine jewelry for her 16th birthday. It first appeared to contain fishing lures, but beneath were these petite diamond studs that she treasured and even wore to her wedding years later. The opals came from Shannon's grandfather after her grandmother passed away as opal was her birthstone.
Despite being sentimental, these two pairs of earrings weren't getting worn, so we were pleased to be able to renovate them for Shannon! We brought in some pops of blue turquoise, aquamarine, and Tsavorite garnet to create a complete color palette from the play of colors in her sentimental opals.
We were so glad to get grandpa's seal of approval when Shannon received these she wrote us, "my Grandpa is now 93 and he loved the earring redesign when I wore them to visit him after I received them. "
