the kon mari method

i did it in 2018 before i moved houses and i've never looked back. it's really helped me stay organize + learn what i truly like.

and yes, it's helped me learn to let go of stuff that doesn't spark joy. it taught me that material gifts don't have to hang around like the sweater someone knit you that you feel obligated to wear in front of them; you can really love the gesture of the gift and let that be enough, then let the actual thing go and serve someone else.

"what if i need this" isn't really a thing i worry about anymore, and i was raised by parents whose whole garage is full of that shit. let it go!
