Venturing into the Cascades during peak fall foliage

The north cascades are absolutely magical when the colors change. My favorite thing to do is go on a hike where there are lots of larches — a unique type of conifer tree that loses its leaves (needles?) when the seasons change and they turn an absolutely magnificent color of golden yellow
