Austrian surplus Field Jacket, M65 based

These surplus Austria Army jackets are made of the most glorious heavyweight sateen fabric. A much nicer dark green than the USA Olive Drab, plus is no glue under the Velcro on the chest. Carefully remove that, and you’ve got a lovely, fashionable, incredibly durable daily-wear jacket without much trace of its military origin.

Don’t let the sizing throw you. I’m 6’3, 195lbs with a 42” chest and I wear the Small / Long (88-92, V/VI in Austrian military sizing) with just enough room for a trim wool sweater underneath. A medium (96-100) would give me room for serious cold weather layering.

Moderately waterproof, and with a surprisingly good hood hidden inside.
