The Lift Tower

Watch this: The Lift Tower, a gorgeous little documentary about shoemaking in Northampton, England.

It’s all hands, leather, machinery, repetition—and people who are very, very good at making something the old-fashioned way. Meditative, slightly hypnotic, and, as someone who has perhaps loved shoes more than is strictly reasonable, this one speaks to me.

Also: British shoes. Old factories. Industrial architecture. Basically catnip for some of us.
