Emma M Lion series by Beth Brower
These are popular for good reason. So charming, endearing and wholesome. The first one is my least favorite so if you can get through it you will be rewarded! I love the literary quotes and funny stories. It has inspired me to write in my journal more, send more snail mail, memorize and read poetry. Enchanté!

“This whole series is about hope! And how to live in the midst of struggle. It’s a very funny and light read (really really enjoyable) but has a lot of depth to it. (Also, as an aside, traditionally a “comedy” is a story that has a “U” shape: the protagonist starts somewhere, is brought low and then rises back up at the end, sometimes even beyond where they started. Might help expand your search in”
