Fifty Sounds by Polly Barton

I first learned about Polly Barton through a thoughtful, heartfelt translation of Kikuko Tsumura’s There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Job and it was a thrilling experience to learn more about the person behind the translation, especially their evolving relationship to language and time and getting to know self and others. I have reread this and refer back to it often.
