Travel in an Amtrak roommette

If you haven’t taken Amtrak in awhile, I suggest you try it for your next trip. Train travel is often nicer, less stressful, and more relaxing than flying and driving, and if you buy tickets in advance, it’s really affordable. Even economy class on most Amtrak routes is very pleasant. At least once, though, I recommend experiencing overnight travel in a Roomette sleeping car. These tiny 1-2 person rooms are capsule-sized marvels of engineering snd architecture, so expertly designed and thoughtfully laid out that you won’t miss the extra space. And when you need to stretch your legs, you can get a nice meal in the cafe, or simply walk the length of the train and enjoy the view.
