Shokunin: A Journey Through Japan's Traditional Craft Workshops

I’m in the process of writing a loose treatment for a documentary about the conditions under which traditional crafts persist; not just about the craft but things like familial responsibility, governmental support, tourism etc. Does anyone have any good book, video or papers that discuss this topic in different countries?
