Have you ever tasted the most perfectly ripened strawberry, and already grieved not being able to experience this taste again until next summer?
Recently, I had this happen after purchasing Albion strawberries from the Mar Vista farmers market two weeks ago. After washing, drying and splitting the batch between those to enjoy fresh and later frozen, I couldn’t bring myself to throw away any bit of these prized delights.
So, I did a quick search for strawberry tops and found this very simple recipe for vinegar. Fast forward to a week later, and I have this wildly robust vinegar primed for dressings, drinks, and anything else you could dream of. Waste not, want not, thanks to the bounty of summer.
