Diedrick Brackens: gather tender night @YBCA

Diedrick Bracken’s first solo show! I have been following his career for years, and seeing this body of work was a vital and immersive experience. The 22’ ft ceilings did the verticals of Diedrick’s weavings justice.

The presentation was expansive and thoughtful. Bracken’s exquisite understanding of color is absolutely evident, but it’s how he imbues spirit unto the rendered figures that transcends space and time— reminding us that history always lives on with us, closer than we imagine.
