Brus Leather Wastepaper Bin

I think a trash can or wastebasket should be functional first, but that doesn’t mean it has to be an eyesore. I look for something with a great shape, good materials, and a scale that makes sense for the space. If it’s going to be visible, I actually like treating it more like an object in the room rather than something you’re trying to hide. A beautiful woven basket, leather — like this Giobagnara one — wood, or a really well-designed metal bin can add something to a space. And for a kitchen, functionality is everything — I want something easy to use, easy to clean, and that actually contains the mess. —Brigette Romanek
