In a modified version, I bought a lawnmower my neighbor admires, so he asked if he could mow both our lawns with it. I haven’t mown my lawn in years.

In the pandemic we really leaned into village living and decided to co-own a lawn mower with our neighbors. Then we shared the purchase of a big car roof rack with my sister’s family. Saves everyone money, often lets you buy a nicer one than you would on your own, saves storage space, and cuts the number of new things you are putting into the environment. Works best with people you are comfortable showing up with minimal notice and objects you need on a less than monthly basis.
