Hosui Asian Pears

One crisp fall day many years ago the fruit stand at my farmers market offered slices of this pear as a sample along with a note saying that “hosui” translates to “copious juice.” Every time I bite into this amazing pear, I think of how right the Japanese were. Keep this pear in the fridge for a crisp, refreshing afternoon treat, and look forward to the autumn months forevermore.
