if you feel hopeless about the state of things (in the US), my mom has taken charge of providing the information for detainees in ICE facilities to those who want to donate. Many of these people who are unlawfully and cruelly detained use the money donated for commissary supplies like food, clothing, and blankets. What is provided to them is usually abysmal so any amount you can donate on a regular basis helps those in detention who feel helpless and devastated.
