Joan Didion’s Packing List
My Notes app is filled with iterations of this for every trip, none deleted so they can be reused for future trips of similar ilk.
History
intriguing in its simplicity. getting ready/packing is something i find challenging (ADHD), even day-to-day, so having a list such as this would probably be life-changing. I can attest to the power of costume—an outfit repeatedly turned to (or iterated) is now symbolic, is now armour, is now “yours”.
A perennial fave
