This can print square or rectangle, nice enough print quality photo stickers, that are nice and thin and can go in your journal. I use in my 5 year line a day journal, my most precious document.

How are the prints like when it comes to color reproduction/accuracy? Have you tried any of the zink sticker photo printers like the Canon Ivy? I, too, use my printer for journaling but my main complaint is that every photo needs to be edited since the zink paper has pretty poor color accuracy and even though it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, it would just be a quality of life improvement.
The SELPHY is an 4-pass system ink printer (so you do need to buy ink cartridges), and I would say leaps better in image quality than zink paper. Canon says these photos can resist fading for 100 years! I don't have edit photos at all to print. Honestly, 100% worth the quality of life improvement.
