Hanging a “hamper” in the kitchen for collecting used rags

I did away with paper towels years ago (I’ll link to my favorite flour sack towels separately) but it wasn’t until last year that I cracked the code for collecting dirty towels in my kitchen. I use this waxed canvas bag—it seems to be stain and mold resistant—but a large onion basket or other hanging basket would also work!

Yes such a great bag rec! I had a tiny hamper on the ground that was amazing but then my child started to crawl and would immediately rifle through dirty kitchen rags… but hanging a bag?? Amazing!

I use a large cotton mesh farmers market bag for mine. It’s nice because I can throw the bag in with the towels if needed.

Oh yes. We are an only-reusable-kitchen towel household as well. Our kitchen is small so we keep a plastic bin under the sink as a hamper. But not using paper towels makes me so happy.
