I can’t believe I just visited for the first time. Remainders is a non-profit thrift store specifically for arts and crafts supplies with a great selection of fabrics and yarns (some of which are comically hideous but this is charming in its own way). I’m just starting my learning-to-sew journey and I don’t want to waste expensive fabrics on my early experiments, so I picked up some very affordable fabric here. And there are so many other random arts and crafts supplies, too! They even had a bunch of unopened Rainbow Loom bands that I got for my kids, who were thrilled. They also offer classes upstairs, and they have all kinds of community group meetups. This is the kind of IRL place with a vision that every place needs more of.

“We LOVE donating excess crafting supplies to Remainders in LA. If you're not in Los Angeles, google "Creative Reuse Donation Center" and see if there's a local center or library or school you can donate to.”

“Pick up recycled craft items at an excellent price. Stamps, fabric, yarn, wood, buttons, frames, maps, photos and more. We use it to get collage items for classes. Also a good place to donate your unused craft supplies (call to make a drop-off appointment).”
