This is a miraculous exercise which I am at LONG LAST finally realizing is a key to fixing the neck and shoulder issues that have plagued me for years. All you have to do is get into a push-up position (or table top to start out) and try to move your shoulder blades together so much they look like a butt crack and then move them all the way apart and repeat until you erase the decades-long repetitive stress injury caused by letting your neck and traps do all the work of holding up your big dumb head for your whole idiot life. Easy!

Is it working? I need to start doing these more but have yet to make it a habit
The serratus anterior (the muscle that protracts or pushes the scapula away from each other) is SUCH an important muscle for feeling supported through the neck + trunk, improving breathwork mechanics, 3 dimensional core integration, pelvic floor health. LOVE to see this recommended!
thank you! Multiple people have recced these to me but I am finding it remarkably hard to do it right… like I almost can’t feel my scapulas?! I am trying against the wall until I figure it out
