The kombu celery and a vesper at Bar Goto

This celery paired with a vesper ruined my life in the best way. I can’t stop thinking about how every single thing was a delicate work of art there, and I’m now angry because I live in another state and can’t waltz down the street for another round.

I’ve since made the celery at home (and taken to a party where someone screamed “this is better than a FRENCH FRY”), but nothing captures the magic of being able to go on a quiet night and watching Kenya (Bar Goto’s owner) make cocktails, share stories and jokes, and all of his best recommendations. He made us feel like welcome old friends. Truly one of those “I ❤️ NY” moments.
