Have friends at different ages

Once you enter fully into adulthood a funny thing happens in that your friends start to span age brackets. Currently, my friends range in ages from late 20s to 50s, and I absolutely love it. I get different things from these different friends, and have different types of conversations. What a gift!

i once read it's good to have a mentor and someone to mentor and having younger and older friends can fulfill those roles (if in a more informal way)

This! Was coming here to say you should have a professional mentor who is older, and then also a mentor/friend/coach/whatever you call it who works in the same field, but is younger. The ole generational perspectives are so helpful and keep you from having blind spots.

The best. One of my besties is in her late 60s. The other is in her early 20s. Both would chug a margarita.
