Another great book by Islington. This one is different than his other two series (The Licanius Trilogy and The Hierarchy) since it’s cyberpunk science fiction and shorter/faster paced (I found this book to be a light read after some of the more heavy books I’ve been reading lately). Nevertheless, I found it entertaining.
I enjoy James Islington’s writing style because he can world build without excessive info dumping (so while not having the definitions up front for the made up words may leave you in the dark for a bit, you will eventually get to understand more of the concepts and meanings of the society and tech). Basically, you just get plopped into the story, and the world building goes as you keep reading.
This is also book one of an incomplete series (this book came out in September), so there are overarching questions that are yet to be answered.
