In honor of October, I feel the need to rec Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
Around this time last year, I watched a bit of the classic Universal Monster movies. Afterwards I thought “Hmm I should read Frankenstein because I know it’s a classic”. It turns out it was probably one of my favorites reads from 2025; I was so surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
If you haven’t read it but are intrigued by the overall idea of Frankenstein and the Creature, I’d definitely recommend you read it.

“This is one of those reads I’d press into everyone’s hands! Most of us assume we know Frankenstein (thank you Disney) but the novel’s emotional depth, particularly the monster’s suffering and the profound misunderstanding surrounding him, deserves to be experienced firsthand. Mary Shelley was a visionary, both as a writer and as a feminist thinker. What makes this edition especially exciting is ho”

“In honor of finishing my paper. I am a Victor Frankenstein apologist, which nobody has my back on. It’s really a book about two guys being extremely sad. The experts (my professor and my dad) say to read the 1818 edition.”
