Would add to this recommendation the book Mr. Wilson's Cabinet of Wonder which is about this museum and is essentially 192 pages of the author trying to figure out if the people who run this place are joking or insane or both.

A museum about the idea of museums and display. Go to the tea room on the roof and hang out with the doves. The MJT's wikipedia page has a lot of words like "undefined" and "unclassifiable" in its attempts to describe exactly what the museum is and what you can see there.
