So you cannot touch your phone. I do ceramics and you cannot fuck with your phone because your hands are wet and covered in, essentially, dirt. Other options: gardening, some forms of cooking, paper mache, pastels.

I work with hot glass, soft hot glass to be precise and it cannot be kept out of the flame for more than 15 seconds so dealing with a phone is not a good idea- because even if you can keep your glass in the flame it is always moving and if you aren’t paying attention it will move to your countertop or your lap- ouch!

I just started learning glass blowing last year! I am so used to slow materials (wood, clay) that the speed of glass is still really hard for me, but in a fun way.

I do something called lampworking- working on a torch fired by propane and oxygen. Small stuff- beads- see below. So still fast but the volume is not as scary!
