taking a siesta

i'm from the us, but live in germany, where most people/places don't have AC. when it gets insanely hot here or in other parts of europe without even fans, there's always a certain time of the day where i simply shut down and can't do anything. it could feel like wasted time, but i've opted for acceptance, meaning i know on those super hot days i'll be out and about for a certain period of time (say, 7 am to 1 pm) and then will allow myself as many hours as i need to rest and cool down before i'...
