The House in Good Taste

It’s a little of a hate-read, but helpful in forming a clearer standpoint on what I care about design-wise. Certain aspects are very cringe (like designing homes so you never see the servants and suggestions to paint furniture and upholster it in chintz), but other things are illuminating. No pun intended, but De Wolfe’s bashing of modern lamps being inferior to candles reminds me of today’s LED hate.
