Song of the Sea (2014), directed by Tomm Moore, is an ethereal, magical, and incredibly special animated film. It follows the fantastical adventures of Ben and Saoirse, as they encounter many magical beings and work through the difficulties of their siblingship. Quoting my own letterboxd review (lol):
"This movie is my favorite movie in the entire universe. It was my childhood, it is my girlhood, and I know it will be my adulthood too. From the character development, folklore references, and voice acting, to the (unforgettable and utterly entrancing) music, animation, and familial themes, this film is simply perfection."
A must watch for anyone willing to have wonder and whimsy in their lives!

“My two sensitive kids loved this movie when we watched it recently!”

“Now this is a family movie. Unspeakably beautiful and charming. And also a little scary towards the end, so the little one will need someone to cuddle. Also the scary part is enough to give them a sense that they watched something real and they made it through. I think that's important.”
