sideways stories from wayside school audiobook
Recommended by Rachel Jacobson
The audiobook read by the author Louis Sachlar is laugh-til-you-cry zaney and hilarious. The stuff that’s a little dated and shocking makes it even funnier—-though may take a sensitive conversation or two!

Yes! Remember the kid in lot of layers named Sam that (#spoiler) was actually a rat.

The dead rat jokes keep coming! There’s also an inappropriately hilarious scene where a “hobo” comes to do a Q&A with the class for career day.

“I love this book!!!! I have read to so many of my students. The absurdity and irreverence is so lacking and needed in media for kids.”
