Many cut flower growers pull the whole plant, bulb and all, since the fancier varieties tend not to perennialize very well. You can get bulk mixes (100+ bulbs) from a number of sources or be the least chill possible like me and choose options from each color family and style and bloom window to make your own plan. In my cutting bed, I plant tulips extremely closely (bulbs an inch apart), pull the whole thing, then plant summer seeds (zinnias or cosmos usually) when they’re done. Tulips are a premium pest favorite, so highly recommended you cover with chicken wire for the winter. Note: non-tulip bulb species do perennialize quite well in my zone 6b climate, especially allium, narcissa and muscari varieties of all kinds, so I tend to tuck those into my perennial beds.
