Edith Wharton literally wrote the book - her novels, yes some of my favorites - but also The Decoration of Houses (1897).
The O.G. influencer showing how it should be done through a codification of her principles on the decoration and architecture of homes.
Well worth a trip to Western Massachusetts, definitely shoot for summer when the gardens are at their best.

Loved visiting The Mount. They decorate beautifully for Christmas too. Wharton kept a damn good house!

She sure did! Noted on the Christmas time recommendation (as if I needed an excuse to go back more often....)
