Ruth Asawa Lanier, Inc.

Ruth Asawa’s family is opening an exhibition space dedicated to showing her work at Minnesota Street Project, in San Francisco.

They’ll show Asawa’s artwork, alongside work from her friends, Josef and Anni Albers, Imogen Cunningham, and others. So exciting to be able to see more of her work (much of which hasn’t been seen in public!) more regularly, in a space that aligns with her legacy as an artist and advocate for the arts, art education, and access to art.

💙 The inaugural exhibition opens May 9th, 2026 — find details or bookmark for a future visit: Asawa's site.

“I love the galleries at Minnesota Street Project!!! This year Ruth Asawa’s family opened a permanent exhibit in the space. They rotate in pieces from their private collection + art created by students from her namesake art school. Truly incredible to have the opportunity to see her work through her family’s eyes.”
