Bar Bête
The definition of a classy neighborhood spot, with minimalist design, smooth service, and a French-inspired menu that changes frequently. I’ve had and loved the oysters with chili oil, tuna toast, and leeks vinaigrette. The yellow cake is worth ordering, both for the nostalgic birthday-cake flavor and the dramatic swoosh of chocolate frosting.

“A perfect slice of cake with thick fudgy frosting that looks like an anchorman’s swoop. Sit at the bar and order just this.”

“Cozy, friendly, great wine list”

“There is no greater restaurant. Food 100, service 100, vibes 100. The duck fat potatoes will change your life and the feta with pickled blueberries is iconic.”
