I feel you on years spent raw-dogging! :) The key term for me is "Time blindness".
What made things "click" for you? For me, it was lots of burnt saucepans and realizing others can leave stuff in the oven without an alarm clock.
!!! i always think about what life would have been like if i had known.
time blindness is def a thing i struggle with. i absolutely hate cooking and tell people i do it purely for survival. i have once melted the lid of a pot while also serving myself medium rare chicken — i felt so defeated that night.
“analysis paralysis” is the term that helped make sense of what i was experiencing — especially when thinking about having to do boring or unpleasant tasks (such as doing the laundry). i tend to overthink the process of doing the task so much that I tire myself mentally before starting lol.
