the depth is so shallow that it can fit in the tightest entryways (8in depth for the short version I think 11in for the tall pictured) but you still get that full "entryway/foyer" look not just okay kick your shoes off wherever. We just got it for our extremely cramped lobby area and are switching the knobs to cool leather tassel ones.
