Holy s***! I couldn’t put this book down and read it in 3 days.
The book is a must for anyone who went through developmental or foundational trauma, or repeated abuse in their adult life. It is Especially powerful for children of immigrants as the book also explores then intergenerational trauma that we now know is passed down genetically to us (three generations).
Stephanie offers a raw and powerful overview of complex PTSD through her own story of childhood abuse she endured from her parents and scientific/psychological research.
Stephanie also shares the various therapies and interventions that have helped heal from this pervasive And all encompassing diagnosis.
If you are looking to better understand yourself or someone you know who went through years and years of trauma give this book a read.
Stephanie’s writing is beautiful and evocative.

“Such a good cook on complex trauma. I like how it includes both the author’s story and scientific research together.”
