Portable dvd player + classic DVDs for kids travel
When we started flying more frequently with my 3 (now 4) year old, I bought a portable DVD player and grabbed DVDs from our local thrift store and thrift books (Milo & Otis! PBS kids shows! Disney’s animated Robin Hood!)
It was a hit, became a special treat for travel, and helped us avoid getting sucked into introducing her to a tablet and the black hole of streaming services / YouTube.

“I got a portable dvd player for my kids before an international flight & it was perfect. I thrifted some dvds & got a little cd case to store them without the boxes. They were soooo stoked. I love this as an alternative to a tablet. It’s going to be so great for car trips, forts, etc. Get a headphone splitter to use 2 sets of headphones! A few dvds I found were: paddington Winnie the Pooh Little b”
