Rebecca (read by Alexandra O’Karma)
They didn’t have the Audie Awards yet in 1988, or Alexandra O’Karma would have swept for this. Her vintage Transatlantic accent is perfect for this elegant novel, and her innate gravity and mesmerizing cadence make her wonderfully suited to gothic suspense. She employs subtle micro-accents to modulate between characters with theatrical precision, skillfully building unnerving tension to a fever pitch.

“Forever in my top 5. A perfect gothic book. Big mood, a mystery with a great twist, a sprawling haunted manor, ye olde mean girls, and Maxim de Winter is a fuckboi prototyle. Read it NOW.”

“Go in blind. DuMaurier is a master of gothic fiction. The way I could feel the setting while reading this was unlike anything I've read before or since.”
Shelby
“Juicy, suspenseful, complex, and complete. It’s the kind of story that makes you want to write a book report when it’s over”
